CANINE ACADEMY

Our Policies

General Care & Welfare

All dogs are cared for with kindness, patience and respect at all times.

Services are provided in line with Animal Welfare Regulations.

Dogs must be in good general health and fit enough to participate in the booked service.

Any behavioural, medical or dietary needs must be disclosed PRIOR to services commencing.

Health, Vaccinations & Parasite Control

Dogs must be suitably vaccinated, or have alternative veterinary evidence of immunity where appropriate.

Owners are responsible for informing Posh Paws of any illness, injury or condition that may affect their dog’s care or safety.

Owners confirm that all information provided regarding their dog's health and behaviour is accurate to the best of their knowledge.

We reserve the right to refuse or suspend services if a dog appears unwell, contagious, or unfit to participate.

Grooming Services

Severe matting, aggressive behaviour or extreme stress may result in the session being ended early.

Additional charges may apply for excessive matting, behavioural difficulties or time beyond the standard appointment.

Grooming results vary depending on coat condition and dog behaviour; specific styles cannot always be guaranteed.

Owners must inform us of any skin conditions, sensitivities or injuries prior to grooming.

Matting will be shaved, we will not put a dog through discomfort for aesthetics.

Shaving a matted coat may reveal pre-existing skin irritation, bruising or other underlying conditions which Posh Paws cannot be held responsible for.

TRAINING SERVICES

Any history of reactivity, anxiety, fearfulness or aggression must be declared IN ADVANCE.

Posh Paws of Pinford End reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a dog’s behaviour poses a risk to itself, other dogs, staff or the public.

Training may be adjusted or cancelled due to extreme weather conditions to protect dog welfare.

Consistency and owner participation are KEY TO SUCCESS.

Failure to do so may limit progress, Posh Paws reserves the right to discontinue services if we believe we can no longer work safely or effectively with the dog and owner.

Training plans are tailored to each dog and may evolve as progress is assessed.

Appropriate training methods and equipment will be selected based on the individual dog and training goals and discussed with the owner.

Bookings, Payments & Cancellations

Bookings are confirmed once agreed in writing and, where applicable, a deposit is received.

Payment terms will be clearly communicated at the time of booking.

Cancellations require a minimum of 48 HOURS’ NOTICE unless otherwise stated.

Late cancellations or no-shows may be CHARGED IN FULL.

PACKAGES may be subject to separate payment and cancellation terms, which will be confirmed prior to booking.

Liability

Whilst every reasonable care is taken, dogs participate in services at the owner's own risk. Posh Paws cannot accept liability for illness, injury or loss.

Owners are responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog to people, animals or property.

Any keys or access codes provided are held securely and used solely for the purpose of delivering services.

Posh Paws cannot be held responsible for the condition of the property beyond reasonable care.

Emergency Care & Veterinary Treatment

In the event of illness or injury, Posh Paws of Pinford End will make every effort to contact the owner or emergency contact.

Where practical, treatment will be sought from the dog's registered veterinary practice.

If urgent veterinary attention is required and contact cannot be made, we are authorised to seek treatment at the owner’s expense.

Any costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner.

PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA

We may take photographs or videos during services for training records or marketing purposes.

Please let us know before your appointment if you do not wish for you or your dog to appear on our social media.
